• Banana Runts (Amazon): SOMEHOW this is a controversial opinion, but you know what? I like banana runts. I love banana runts. I've already compromised by putting these second in my list.... when they are first in my heart. I'm sorry. I need more banana runts.
• Banana Hi-Chew Taffy (Amazon): ok, back to normal candy reviews! Hi-Chew's mild take on banana flavoring perfectly complements the soft and airy texture of this taffy. Very different from banana runts, but that's ok, Hi-Chew is forgiven.
• Banana Laffy Taffy (Amazon): I'm not usually a huge fan of Laffy Taffy — I prefer softer taffies like Hi-Chew — but I've always loved banana Laffy Taffies! Something about their perfumey banana flavoring works very well with the hard texture of this taffy.
• Circus Peanuts by Melster (Amazon): banana-flavored peanut-shaped marshmallows are easily one of the weirdest "classic" American candies. These funky marshmallows were originally sold as penny candy in the 1800s, but aside from that, their true origin is uncertain. The enduring popularity of Circus Peanuts is either a case of so-bad-it's-good or simple nostalgia, maybe a combination of both, but you need to try them — even if you just pick up a pack next time you're waiting in line at a supermarket checkout.
